NH CHARITABLE FOUNDATION GRANTS $10,000 TO NEXT GENERATION TO SPECIALIZE IN INFANT AND TODDLER CARE

GREENLAND, NH – June 30, 2007 – New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has granted $10,000 to Next Generation for its transition into a program specializing in infant and toddler care only. The funds will help pay staff salaries, buy new equipment, and provide further Early Childhood Education classes for staff to focus on the first three years of a child’s life. Recent studies prove that the first three years are critical for brain development, as 90% of brain growth occurs during this time.

“This investment will help us get the word out to the community as we restructure our curriculum and change the old preschool space into a better place for infants and toddlers to grow,” said Toni Trotzer, Executive Director of New Generation.

Next Generation Infant and Toddler Center, formerly Next Generation Daycare, opened in 1997, and serves up to 18 children age six weeks to three years. The center has received a Licensed Plus rating from the NH Division of Health and Human Services and accepts Title XX vouchers from low-income families. The childcare center is a service of New Generation, a non-profit transitional shelter program for pregnant and parenting women and their children. Second Generation Thrift Shoppes and Generation Gap Furniture Barn also serve the public and are located just off Route 33 at Tide Mill Road in Greenland, and at 25 Old Dover Road, Rochester. All proceeds of both shops support New Generation. For more information call Toni Trotzer or Catherine Edison at 603-436-4989 or visit www.newgennh.com.
