Richie McFarland Center and Next Generation Daycare Unite To Help Parents of Young Children

Wednesday, April 26, 2006 (Greenland, NH)—Richie McFarland Children’s Center (RMCC) of Stratham held a 3-week seminar at Next Generation Daycare to help parents of the daycare toddlers and preschoolers to cope with the challenges they face. The 1,2,3,4 Parents! Seminar was written by national parenting experts who explain solutions to help make family life easier. “The seminar goes with what we teach every day, all the handouts and all the information that we give the parents,” said Ivelisse Roy, Daycare Director. “It is very consistent with our philosophy so I am glad we’ve had many parents involved.” Topics covered discipline methods that work, how to prevent tantrums, how to make rules your child will follow, routines that make life easier, the best ways to childproof your home, how to care for your child at different stages, and great ways to take care of yourself. Dinner for the seminar was generously donated by Shaw’s Supermarkets of Stratham, The Coffee Beanery and Mizuna Café and Catering of Greenland.    

RMCC provides developmental and support services for children with special needs, assistance to their families and assistance in the use of community and health resources. Next Generation Daycare is a full-time daycare and preschool that accepts Title XX for eligible families. Next Generation is a service of New Generation, Inc., a shelter for homeless pregnant women and mothers with young children. Other services of New Generation include Second Generation Thrift Shoppe and Generation Gap Furniture Barn; all proceeds for these services fund New Generation programs.
